What is your organisation’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?
Trust-IT and COMMpla have honed their expertise in managing funding through their leadership of the H2020 StandICT.eu project and subsequent initiatives under Horizon Europe. This experience catalysed the development of a highly integrated platform designed to manage open calls for projects financed through the FSTP mechanism. Leveraging this platform for the InDiCo-Global project will be crucial for minimising the resources required to select and establish projects that receive funding, while ensuring a streamlined and transparent process. Furthermore, the roles of Trust-IT and COMMpla as coordinators for StandICT.eu and HSBooster.eu, respectively, will be vital in facilitating effective communication and coordination between InDiCo-Global and these two CSAs.

Given its extensive geographic reach, InDiCo-Global should focus on developing a foundational blueprint to promote European standards globally, highlighting their benefits across policy, regulation, research, and society. This initiative should aim to forge connections among global communities, enhance local capacities, support international research groups, and accelerate the development and adoption of innovative technologies within various industries. By doing so, InDiCo-Global can play a pivotal role in shaping global standards that foster technological advancement and regulatory coherence worldwide.
What are some of the challenges and opportunities you see in international collaboration for digital innovation and standardisation
Collaboration on ICT standardization beyond Europe presents broad challenges linked to navigating diverse regulatory environments and aligning disparate stakeholder interests. Additionally, geopolitical tensions pose significant challenges to cooperation, as competition for tech primacy among countries complicates cooperation and the potential harmonization of standards across borders. On the other hand, potential opportunities include fostering global innovation by bringing together different models, building capacity at international level and harmonising disruptive technologies to create innovative adoption frameworks.
